What You Do. Collaboratively lead new product development and innovation initiatives in support of corporate growth objectives and delivery of annual plans. Leads cross-functional teams. Develop new product platforms including product, package, positioning, and marketing plans. In conjunction with NPD leadership and division management, understand business priorities and leverage industry knowledge and consumer understanding to identifying new product opportunities. Collaborate with Consumer Insights function to establish a fact-based understanding of consumer dynamics, needs, and implications to our business. Derive actionable insights and leverage research to guide new product development. Monitor industry, customer, consumer, and competitive trends and analyze implication to the business. Bring insights to the attention of New Platform Development team and sales divisions. Develop business case outlining financial attractiveness and market potential of new product platforms to prioritize initiatives and appropriately allocate resources. Contribute to NPD budget recommendations and regularly monitor performance. Ensure organizational alignment on key initiatives by regularly presenting project updates and recommendations to management. Actively manage the extension of new product platforms across multiple sales divisions and channels of trade. Your Education and Experience. Master's degree required. MBA preferred. Eight plus years CPG marketing new product development experience required. Three plus years experience in a CPG new product development role is strongly preferred. Your Qualifications. Demonstrated competency in new product development best practice processes, project management, and in leading cross-functional teams. A track record of success developing and launching new products in CPG industry. Ability to utilize primary and secondary research to identify actionable insights and to guide new product development efforts. Strong communication skills. The ability to collaboratively lead and work within cross-functional teams to establish priorities, objectives, and deliverables. A strong team orientation. Strong understanding of retail sales channel and customer needs in that channel. The ability to develop and maintain a budget. Willingness to challenge the status quo and provide thought leadership. A results-oriented/bias for action attitude and work style. The ability to confidently manage multiple projects simultaneously.
